Bollywood Superstar Ajay Devgn is all set to return to the big screen with Raid 2, the much-awaited sequel to the 2018 blockbuster Raid. Which is releasing in theaters on 1st May 2025.
Ajay will be seen reprising his role as IRS Amay Patnaik, while Ileana D’Cruz will be replaced by Vaani Kapoor as Amay’s wife. On the other hand, Riteish Deshmukh plays the role of the main antagonist, Dada Manohar Bhai. Marked as Ajay’s fourth collaboration with Ritesh, Raid 2 revolves around Amoy Patnaik directing the 75th Raid, and this time it’s at Dada Manohar Bhai’s (Riteish Deshmukh) premises. The film, directed by Raj Kumar Gupta, also stars Rajat Kapoor, Saurabh Shukla, Supriya Pathak, Amit Sial, and Yashpal Sharma.
Like other movies, this movie was also sent to the CBFC (Central Board of Film Certification), and it was given a U/A certificate much before the normal time. But the makers have again appealed to the CBFC to make it more clear.
The run-time of the movie stands at 2 hours 18 minutes 57 seconds, which was earlier 2 hours 30 minutes 53 seconds. But interestingly, now the rating is U/A 13+. Two songs were to be included, one of which is Tamannaah Bhatia’s popular ‘Nasha,’ which is already topping the music charts. Guessing that this popular song by Bhatia is responsible for the change in ratings? But the makers say the rating is still U/A, and the age difference from “7+” to “13+” is a slight change.
A few songs from the film’s soundtrack have been released. “NASHA” is a captivating dance number where Tamannaah Bhatia sets the stage on fire with her dance. “KAMLE” is a romantic song that showcases the chemistry between Ajay Devgn and Vaani Kapoor. “TUMHE DILLAGI” is another love song by the lead pair. It is a remake of a popular classic song. “MONEY MONEY” is a party number that features Yo Yo Honey Singh and Jacqueline Fernandez.
The film is produced by Bhushan Kumar, Kumar Mangat Pathak, Abhishek Pathak, and Krishna Kumar. It is presented by Gulshan Kumar and T-Series. The film’s soundtrack is composed by Yo Yo Honey Singh, Amit Trivedi, Rochak Kohli, Sachet-Parampara, and White Noise Collective, and the background score is by Amit Trivedi. The film will clash with the horror comedy ‘The Bhootni‘ starring Sanjay Dutt, Mouni Roy, and Palak Tiwari in theaters on May 1.
