Param Sundari official trailer was released today. The film is scheduled to hit the theaters on August 29, 2025.
Param Sundari is a romantic comedy that revolves around a “North-South” love story. Sidharth Malhotra plays Param, a young man from Delhi who travels to Kerala. There, he meets and falls in love with Sundari, a dancer from a South Indian family, played by Janhvi Kapoor.
The trailer is set in the picturesque backdrop of Kerala. The romance between a North Indian man and a South Indian woman, which highlights the humor and drama that emerges from their cultural differences, is drawing comparisons with other films like ‘2 States’ and ‘Chennai Express.’
Janhvi Kapoor’s character: One of the highlights of the trailer is a powerful and funny monologue by Janhvi Kapoor’s character, Sundari. In a pivotal scene, where Sundari gives a rapid-fire lesson on South Indian cinema to Param and his friends. She mentions iconic stars like Rajinikanth from Tamil Nadu, Mohanlal from Kerala, Allu Arjun from Andhra, and Yash from Karnataka. This dialogue serves as a funny yet pointed critique of the “arrogant, entitled, and prejudiced North Indians” who might generalize or be ignorant about the different cultures and languages of the South. Janhvi’s solo dialogue is one of the highlights.
Sidharth Malhotra’s character: Sidharth Malhotra’s character, Param, a Punjabi boy from Delhi, is portrayed in a kind of grandeur. In one of the dialogues in the trailer, Sundari (Janhvi) tells her, “Kis ladki ko kase fasana hai, sab pata hai na.” These dialogues, along with the beautiful visuals and catchy music, make the trailer of Param Sundari stand out.
The official trailer of Param Sundari features several dialogues that highlight the film’s mix of comedy, romance, and cultural clash. There is a moment where a character quotes a famous line from the Shah Rukh Khan starrer “Baazigar”: “Har kar jitne wale ko Baazigar kehte hai.” This line adds a touch of classic Bollywood romance to the modern romantic comedy.
The trailer features beautiful scenery of Kerala, its monsoon-soaked roads, and its swamps. It also gives a taste of the film’s music, including the popular song “Pardesiya” and a new track, “Bheegi Saree.”
The film is directed by Tushar Jalota and produced by Dinesh Vijan, under Maddock Films. Apart from the lead pair, the actors include Rajeev Khandelwal and Aakash Dahiya, who play supporting roles. It will release on 29th August.
