Rukmini Vasanth has joined the cast of the movie “Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups.” Initially, the makers of the film kept her participation a secret. According to reports, she has already completed a significant part of her shooting in Mumbai and has shared multiple scenes with lead actor Yash.
Her role in the film is described as dramatic and action-oriented and is said to bring a twist to the story. She will join an ensemble cast that includes Yash, Nayanthara, Kiara Advani, Tara Sutaria, and Huma Qureshi.
Rukmini Vasanth, who started her career with Birbal and shot to fame with Rakshit Shetty’s ‘Sapta Sagaradaache’, is now unstoppable. The actress has gradually become one of the most sought-after talents, having worked in various languages, including Kannada and Tamil. After making her Tamil debut in ‘Ace’ opposite Vijay Sethupathi, she recently joined hands with Rishab Shetty in the much-awaited ‘Kantara: Chapter 1’, which is being produced by Hombale Films and is set to release in multiple languages. Rukmini recently starred opposite Sivakarthikeyan in ‘Madharaasi’ and will also be seen opposite Jr NTR in Prashanth Neel’s next movie.
While details about Toxic are being kept under wraps, sources have confirmed that Rukmini has already completed a few schedules for the project. However, no official announcement has been made yet. Jointly produced by Venkat K. Narayana’s KVN Productions and Yash’s Monster Mind Creations, the film is being made on a huge budget. It is currently being shot in Mumbai. The film is particularly significant as it is the first large-scale bilingual production to be shot simultaneously in Kannada and English. It will also be dubbed in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, and Malayalam. Toxic was initially scheduled to release on April 10, 2025, but its release was pushed back to March 19, 2026.
Speculations surrounding the fifth lead actress in Yash’s much-awaited film “Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups” are finally over. Now that it has been confirmed that rising star Rukmini Vasanth was part of the project from the beginning, the makers deliberately kept her involvement under wraps to surprise the audience. Industry insiders say that Rukmini has already completed a significant portion of her shooting, sharing important scenes with Yash during the Mumbai schedule. There are only a few days left to shoot her character before she wraps up the work.
“The film was always envisioned as a drama featuring strong female characters, and Rukmini’s role is no exception,” a source said. “She brings a sharp, precise presence to the story. The team wanted to maintain suspense and reveal his participation at the right time, which is why her name has been kept under wraps until now.”
With this announcement, Rukmini joins an impressive cast as the fifth actress after Kiara Advani, Nayanthara, Tara Sutaria, and Huma Qureshi. Each actress plays a significant role that adds depth and dimension to Geetu Mohandas’ ambitious storytelling.
