SS Rajamouli’s next project is SSMB29, starring Mahesh Babu and Priyanka Chopra Jonas. The team is reportedly gearing up for a grand release event on November 15, 2025, at Ramoji Film City in Hyderabad. The event will officially announce the title and release a video teaser of the film. For the first time in Indian cinema, the entire event will be streamed live on the streaming platform JioHotstar, which has reportedly got exclusive rights to release it. The JioHotstar Telugu X handle unveiled a poster showing a lone man facing a trident, with the caption, “This is a great film of a world-traveling cheesy epic… Awaken! 🔱”
Earlier, Mahesh Babu had a light-hearted chat with director SS Rajamouli on social media, exciting fans about the star cast of ‘SSMB29.’ Priyanka Chopra and Prithviraj Sukumaran have joined the cast. The film, which will be shot in various locations, is said to be ready to be revealed soon. The official launch of the much-awaited collaboration between Rajamouli and Mahesh Babu is expected to take place at an event in November. Globetrotter is scheduled for a worldwide release in 120 countries on March 25, 2027.
In a hilarious exchange, Mahesh Babu contacted the director and tweeted, “November is here @ssrajamouli,” to which the director replied in Telugu, “Yes… you are making a cinematic review iddam anukuntunnavhu e maas?” (So, are you planning to review this film this month?).
Mahesh quickly teased, “You are making ‘Forever’ Mahabharata, sir… First of all, you promised us something in November. Please keep your word.” Rajamouli replied, “It has just started, Mahesh. We will release it slowly, one by one.” That’s when the actor bombarded him with, “How slowly, sir…? Will we start in 2030?”
Mahesh confirmed Priyanka Chopra’s casting in SSMB29, writing, “Wow, our desi girl has been posting on every street of Hyderabad on her Insta story since January @priyankachopra.” Priyanka Chopra then joined the conversation, “Hello!! Hero!!! Do you want me to leak all the stories shared with me on the sets? Mind lo fix aithe blind ga esesth…” (Once I decide, I will do it blindly!),” quoting her Pokiri dialogue.
Rajamouli responded with an angry emoticon, tweeting, “Why did you reveal PC, @urstrulyMahesh… you ruined the surprise!”
Mahesh wasn’t done yet. He shamelessly added, “Surprise aaaaa? You mean @PrithviOfficial is also a surprise?”
Joining in the playful sarcasm, Prithviraj Sukumaran wrote, “Sir @ssrajamouli, I have no more alibis for this ‘vacation’ in Hyderabad. If I continue like this, my family will start suspecting me.”
Rajamouli ended the thread by posting an emoticon with anger, where he wrote, “@urstrulyMahesh … Now you’ve ruined everything,” Mahesh replied. “Let’s call it a truce. Tomorrow we’ll reveal something that everyone already knows. You can still call it a surprise.”
To which Rajamouli replied, “Okay, deal. But punishment for excessive sarcasm—I’ve decided to delay the release of your first look.”
Prithviraj ended the viral conversation with a funny line: “I know, sir! You love your villains the most!”
