ZEE5 has unveiled the captivating trailer of the upcoming film “Bhagwat Chapter One: Raakshas,” which will premiere exclusively on October 17. Produced by Jio Studios and in association with Baweja Studios and Dog ‘n’ Bone Pictures, the trailer promises an intense and atmospheric chase thriller set in Robertsganj, Uttar Pradesh, where Inspector Vishwas Bhagwat (Arshad Warsi) investigates a series of brutal murders while battling his inner turmoil. Adding to the intrigue, Jitendra Kumar surprises with an unseen avatar as Sameer, a seemingly ordinary young man whose identity is shrouded in layers of unsettling secrets.
Bhagwat Chapter One: Raakshas is directed by Akshay Shere. Along with Arshad Warsi and Jitendra Kumar, the film also stars Alisha Berry, Ayesha Kaduskar, and Hemant Saini.
The trailer for Bhagwat Chapter One: Raakshas is an intense psychological crime thriller centered on the investigation of a series of missing girls in Robertsganj, Uttar Pradesh. Inspector Vishwas Bhagwat (Arshad Warsi), a flawed but determined police officer, is transferred to the small town. He begins an investigation into the disappearance of a young girl, which quickly reveals a pattern of multiple missing girls and a connection to a local gang.
Bhagwat’s investigation leads him to Sameer (Jitendra Kumar), a seemingly ordinary and charming young man (sometimes described as a college professor or science teacher) whose quiet exterior hides a dark, complex, and potentially terrifying identity. Jeetendra Kumar is shown in a major deviation from his usual light character.
The trailer builds tension as a cat-and-mouse game between the experienced, method-driven cops and the mysterious suspect unfolds. Sameer’s calm demeanor and cryptic speech during the arrest suggest that he is either a master criminal or a deeply involved player, possibly linked to a prostitution ring.
The film is presented as a tense, dark thriller that focuses on ethics, justice, and the psychological conflict between the two main characters. It is a crime thriller about an inspector who investigates a series of missing girls, whose path leads him to a collision with a mysterious and stratified young man.

The streaming giant shared the trailer of the film on X and wrote, “Ek taraf baaz shikaar karne ke liye hai taiyaar, Toh dusri taraf sach ka rakshak hai hoshiyaar… Iss Diwali, kiski hogi jeet? Trailer out! Bhagwat releasing on 17th October, only on ZEE5.” The film explores themes of ethics, liberation, and the nature of good versus evil.
Speaking about the film, director Akshay Shere said in a statement, “‘Bhagwat – Chapter 1: Raakshas’ is more than just a crime thriller; it explores ethics, redemption, and personal choice. Working with Arshad and Jitendra has enhanced the depth of the story.”
Arshad Warsi described his role as emotional. “Vishwas Bhagwat is not your typical hero. He is flawed and haunted by his past but determined to do what is right. The trailer gives a glimpse, but the entire film delves deeper into his challenges,” he said.
Jitendra Kumar, who is known for lighthearted roles, said his character is different from his usual image. “Sameer is layered and unpredictable. Playing him was challenging and rewarding,” he notes.
