Maddock Films has released the first look poster of its upcoming Bollywood film Thama. The film is a new addition to the studio’s horror-comedy universe, which includes popular films like Stree and Bhediya.
The first look posters introduce the lead actors and their characters:
Ayushmann Khurrana as Alok, described as “Insaniat ki Akhri umeed” (the last hope of humanity).
Rashmika Mandanna as Tadaka, described as “Roshni ki ek hi pehli kiran” (the first ray of light).
Paresh Rawal as Mr. Ram Bajaj Goyal, described as “Jo hamesha comedy mein tragedy dhundte hai” (the one who always finds tragedy in comedy).
Nawazuddin Siddiqui as the antagonist Yakshasan, described as “Andhere ka Badshah” (the king of darkness).
Directed by Aditya Sarpotdar, the film is a supernatural love story and is set to release on Diwali 2025. The first look or teaser of the film, titled “The World of Thama”, is scheduled to be released on August 19, 2025.

Maddock started the horror comedy universe in 2018, followed by Vediya in 2022 and Munja in 2024. A sequel to Stri was released in 2024, the film grossed ₹ 857 crore worldwide. Shraddha Kapoor, Rajkummar Rao, Varun Dhawan, Apashakti Khurana, Sharvari and others are already part of this universe. Thama will be releasing on Diwali.
