Mahesh Babu is celebrating his 50th birthday, and the makers of SS Rajamouli’s ‘SSMB29‘ have shared the first look of the much-awaited Telugu film.
Mahesh Babu’s upcoming film now has a name. The filmmaker and the actor have shared a glimpse of the film and a new hashtag on their social media accounts: #Globetrotter. Now, it is not sure if this is the official title of the movie or a promotional hashtag for it. However, the duo has promised an official first reveal about the film in November 2025.
In the picture: This striking scene shows a close-up of the chest of a man, who is wearing a sleek brown shirt with the top buttons unbuttoned. A Rudraksha mala hangs around his neck, with a trident and a Nandi pendant on it—a symbolic and particle-filled image. Although the face is kept hidden, the hints are clear.
Sharing the poster on Instagram, Mahesh Babu wrote, “Thank you for the love; like all of you, I am eagerly waiting to enjoy this release with all of you in November 2025.”
On the occasion of Mahesh Babu’s birthday on Saturday, Rajamouli wrote on X (Twitter), “Dear cinema lovers in India and around the world, as well as fans of Mahesh, It has been a while since we began shooting, and we appreciate your eagerness to know about the film. However, the story and scope of this film are so vast that I feel mere pictures or press conferences cannot do it justice. We are currently working on something to showcase the essence, depth, and immersive world we are creating. This will be unveiled in November 2025, and we are trying to make it a never-before-seen reveal. Thank you all for your patience.”
K. K. Senthil Kumar has been the cinematographer for several blockbuster films directed by Rajamouli, including Magadheera, Baahubali: The Beginning, and RRR. SS Rajamouli has decided to work with another cinematographer instead of his favorite cinematographer, KK Senthil Kumar, for this film.
SSMB29, which is being made on a huge budget, has a significant portion of it shot in Odisha. Apart from Mahesh Babu, the film also stars Priyanka Chopra and Prithviraj Sukumaran. As per earlier reports, the film was tentatively titled SSMB29. The film is expected to release in 2027 with an action adventure with a bit of history and mythology.
