Ustaad Bhagat Singh is an upcoming Telugu-language action-entertainment film directed by Harish Shankar. It stars Pawan Kalyan in the lead role, with Sreeleela and Raashi Khanna also playing important roles.
The film was earlier titled “Bhavadeeyudu Bhagat Singh.” The project was officially launched in December 2022. The shooting of Ustaad Bhagat Singh was on hold for over a year due to Pawan Kalyan’s busy political schedule. However, after the shooting began earlier this year, Pawan managed to complete its entire shoot in just two months. The movie is now in the post-production stage, with the remaining shooting to be completed.
The film is scheduled to be released in 2026, with some sources citing a summer or April 2026 release date. The first song from the film is also scheduled to be released soon.
The film is an action and romantic entertainer. Although the full story has been kept under wraps, the teaser and posters of the film hint at a stylized police drama. Initially, the film was rumored to be a remake of the Tamil film “Theri,” but later the makers clarified that it is an original story. Pawan Kalyan is once again being asked to play the role of a police officer, which is reminiscent of his character in the Harish Shankar-directed blockbuster film “Gabbar Singh.”
Pawan Kalyan has wrapped up the shooting of his film “Ustaad Bhagat Singh.” Raashi Khanna, who plays the lead role, shared a selfie with the actor and also wrote a note, “This is a wrap for #ustaadbhagatsingh for @pawankalyan garu. Sharing this film with him is amazing, a true honor, and a memory I will always cherish.”
Ustaad Bhagat Singh’s music is composed by Devi Sri Prasad, who is once again teaming up with the actor-director duo. The technical team also includes cinematographer Ayananka Bose, editor Ujwal Kulkarni, and production designer Anand Sai. The Ram-Lakshman duo is choreographing the action sequences in the film. The film’s screenplay was written by Dasaradh, and additional writing was done by Chandra Mohan.
The makers have announced on social media that the shooting of Pawan Kalyan’s role in ‘Ustaad Bhagat Singh’ has been completed. “Power Star has wrapped up the shooting. Pawan-Harish Shankar’s pairing is always a festival for movie lovers… a religious celebration for the fans. “Get ready to celebrate our ‘Ustad’ on the big screen for his best performance.” On this occasion, the team shared a video of Pawan and his team partying together on the last day.
Along with Pawan Kalyan, heroine Raashi Khanna, director Harish Shankar, producer Mithri, and other actors and actresses are seen in this video. The film’s team thanked the Power Star by saying, “Thank you, Power Star.” The makers said that they are grateful for Pawan Kalyan’s dedication and support towards the film.
Earlier, the makers had introduced Raashi Khanna as Shloka in the first look of the film. She is an interesting and central character who will add a new dimension to the story. Produced by Mythri Movie Makers, the film stars an impressive cast of actors like Sreeleela, K.S. Ravikumar, Ramki, Nawab Shah, B.S. Avinash (of KGF fame), Gautami, Sakshi Vaidya, Naga Mahesh, Ashutosh Rana, and Temper Vamsi. The upcoming project marks Raashi’s first onscreen collaboration with Pawan.
Apart from Raashi Khanna’s “Ustaad Bhagat Singh”, she has several other exciting projects lined up, including “Telusu Kada” and the Bollywood film “Talaakhon Mein Ek”, where she will star opposite Vikrant Massey. Raashi is also set to start shooting for “Farzi 2” this December.
