Single Salma trailer of the upcoming comedy-drama starring Huma Qureshi, Shreyas Talpade, and Sunny Singh has been unveiled. The comedy-drama trailer introduces the audience to 33-year-old Salma Rizvi (Huma Qureshi), who wants to finally get married to Sikandar (Shreyas Talpade), but life throws her into an unexpected romance with Meet (Sunny Singh) in London. Directed by Nachiket Samant, the film is written by Amina Khan and Ravi Kumar, with dialogues by Mudassar Aziz. Single Salma will release in theaters on October 31.
The movie is a romantic drama about Salma Rizvi (played by Huma Qureshi), a 33-year-old woman from Lucknow, a small town in India. Despite working hard to support her family, Salma’s identity is constantly defined by her “unstable” and single status, with society pressuring her to believe that only marriage can truly settle her life.
Salma is engaged in an arranged marriage to Lucknow’s Sikandar (Shreyas Talpade) but before the wedding she goes to London for work. In London, she feels free and meets Meet (Sunny Singh), which leads to an unexpected love affair. Back in Lucknow, she has her fiancé, Sikandar (Shreyas Talpade).
The story revolves around her self-discovery, the chaos of choosing between freedom and tradition, modern love, and her own desires. The film’s tagline hints at the central dilemma: “Lucknow and London. Two cities, two men, and one big question: Who will be the single Salma’s Balma (husband)?”
The trailer ends with a scene that hints at major chaos on Salma’s wedding day, where the ceremony is being held with Sikander, but Meet also arrives, leaving the question of who Salma will choose.
Overwhelmed with love, Huma Qureshi said about the film, “Salma Unmarried is very close to my heart. The trailer connects with people, and seeing them embrace this small-town story is so precious to me. What I love about Salma is that she is messy, real, and not afraid to break some rules in pursuit of her own happiness. I really hope the audience loves the film as much as we managed to bring it to life.”
Shreyas Talpade said, “I feel amazing to be a part of a comedy-drama that carries the warmth of a small-town love story. The trailer and the love for Sikander are very encouraging. I can’t wait to watch the story of Single Salma.”
Sunny Singh said, “The response to the trailer has been overwhelming, and it makes the audience even more excited to watch the full story of Single Salma. It is a film that promises both laughter and fun.”
Presented by Star Studio18 in association with Elemen3, Single Salma is produced by Alok Jain, Ajit Andhare, Saqib Saleem, Elemen3 Entertainment, Lalaland Entertainment, and Firuzi Khan and directed by Nachiket Samant and will be released in theaters on 31st October 2025.
Huma was recently seen in Jolly LLB 3, starring Akshay Kumar and Arshad Warsi. Her upcoming investigative thriller, ‘Bayaan’, recently screened at the 2025 Toronto International Film Festival.
