Anushka Shetty is getting ready for the release of her new film Ghaati. Ahead of the release, she was part of a fun phone call with her Baahubali co-star Rana Daggubati. The two spoke about her career, her long breaks between films, and her new role. Their friendly banter made the conversation lighthearted, but Anushka also shared some serious thoughts about her plans.
Rana teased her about disappearing for years before each film. Anushka laughed and said she plans to change that. She admitted that she wants to do more movies now and is making an effort to pick good scripts more often. “From next year, you’ll see more of me,” she promised. Fans who have been waiting to see her on screen will be happy with that news.
The actress also spoke about the violence often seen in her films. From Arundhathi to Baahubali and now Ghaati, she has been part of intense stories. She joked that she might as well be called a “hit woman.” Rana quickly added that for such powerful stories, no one else but her could be chosen. Their exchange showed the easy friendship they share.
Talking about Ghaati, Anushka explained that the film is not just about drugs or violence. It is set around a group of tribals and how drug smuggling changes their lives. Her character, Sheelavathu, is shown as a victim who chooses her own path and becomes a legend. She praised director Krish Jagarlamudi for creating such unique characters, just like he did for her earlier role as Saroja in Vedam.
Ghaati also stars Vikram Prabhu and will be released in five languages — Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam, and Hindi. Backed by UV Creations, the film is one of Anushka’s rare releases in recent years. With her promise of appearing more regularly from now on, fans can look forward to seeing a lot more of her after Ghaati.
