After a long break, actor Adivi Sesh is making a comeback with Dacoit, a new film that is already getting a lot of attention. This movie, which also features a strong female lead and a fresh story, is one of the two big projects Sesh is working on. His other film is G2, the sequel to the spy thriller Goodachari.
Dacoit was first announced with Shruti Haasan as the female lead. Fans were excited to see her paired with Adivi Sesh. However, in May this year, it was confirmed that Shruti had left the film and Mrunal Thakur would be taking her place. This change started many rumours and raised questions.
Adivi Sesh spoke openly about the situation and said there was no drama behind Shruti Haasan’s exit from Dacoit. He explained that she was busy with another film, Coolie, and they both had different ways of working. He said their decision to part ways was friendly and respectful, without any issues.
Sesh also shared how happy he was to bring Mrunal Thakur on board for Dacoit. He admired her work in Sita Ramam and was glad that she said yes to the film within hours. He mentioned that Mrunal liked how her name was shown first in the film’s announcement video. Sesh also said Dacoit is a “two-hero film” where both lead roles are equally important.
Dacoit is directed by Shaneil Deo, who is making his directorial debut. He has previously worked as a cinematographer on movies like Goodachari, Wild Dog, and Nishabdham. The film will also feature Anurag Kashyap as a police officer. What makes Dacoit unique is that it is being filmed in both Hindi and Telugu, with some actors changing between versions to match the language and setting.
While working on Dacoit, Adivi Sesh is also busy with G2. This film will star Wamiqa Gabbi, Banita Sandhu, and Emraan Hashmi. Sesh said G2 will be shot in six different countries to give it a big, real-world feel, instead of using green screen. He described it as a huge and ambitious film.
Both Dacoit and G2 are planned for release on Christmas Day, 25 December. With strong casting, exciting stories, and a lot of hard work behind them, Dacoit is shaping up to be one of the most talked-about films of the year.
