Netflix’s 2025 line-up promises shows across regions and languages. The teaser of Neeraj Pandey’s copycat series ‘Khakee: The Bengal Chapter’ was released last night. What stood out in the heavy ensemble cast was the first-ever pairing of Bengali superstars Jeet and Prosenjit Chatterjee. Earlier Prasenjit Chatterjee acted in a Jeet-produced film titled ‘Aay Khuku Aay’ (2022). But the Bengali superstars have never shared the screen before.

Khakee: The Bengal Chapter stars Jeet, Prosenjit Chatterjee, Saswata Chatterjee, Parambrata Chatterjee, Ritwik Bhowmik, Adil Khan, Chitrangada Singh, Pooja Chopra, Aakanksha Singh, Mimoh Chakraborty and Shraddha Das in lead roles. Directed by Debatma Mandal and Tushar Kanti Ray, the Netflix series is produced by Shital Bhatia. Neeraj Pandey shares the writing credits with Debatma Mandal, Samrat Chakraborty.
Story Plot:
The upcoming series is based on a true story. Set in the backdrop of Kolkata in the year 2000, ‘Khakee: The Bengal Chapter’ tells the story of crime and punishment. In a world heavily influenced by gangsters and politicians, the series shows the relentless efforts of an IPS officer to restore peace and justice. The series is set in Kolkata and the latest installment of Khakee contributes to violence, corruption and justice. The bullet-making incident begins at Howrah Bridge in Kolkata. Surprisingly, the use of bullets is minimal, especially at the beginning of the series.
In the series, Jeet plays the role of an IPS officer and Prosenjit is said to be playing the role of a politician. Parambrata Chatterjee plays the role of a police officer.
Sharing the teaser on Instagram, Netflix wrote, “Kolkata ke sabse khatarnak gangsters ka hoga sabse shatir police se saamna, in Khakee: The Bengal Chapter. Khaki: The Bengal Chapter is coming soon, only on Netflix!“
Khakee: The Bihar Chapter
The Khakee series started with the Bihar part which was a crime thriller series created by Neeraj Pandey and written by Umashankar Singh. The series starred Karan Tacker, Avinash Tiwary and Abhimanyu Singh in the lead roles and was produced by Shital Bhatia under the banner of Friday Storytellers. The season received a lot of praise and it has a rating of 8.2 on IMDb.
